Class Structure
There were many different classes in the Mughal Empire. Brahmin were priests (one of the higher classes), kshatrivas were warriors and rulers (a little bit lower) and vaisyas were skilled traders, merchants, and minor officials. The last class was the sudras (the bottom of the pyramid)- they were servants for Brahmin, Kshatriya and Vaisyas. There is no movement between classes. You are born into the class that you will marry in and die in. The Mughal household was a world of domestive slavery. There were male and female slaves and their tasks varied based on skill. As time went on the importance of slaves decreased.
